DJ’ing Events Throughout the United States
In the world of music, there are a variety of events that draw people from all over the country and in some instances, the entire world. To name a few, Lollapalooza, Spring Awakening, Coachella, and many more. The music industry focuses an immense amount of energy into making these events wonderful experiences for music lovers everywhere. A central role creating a massive effect of joy during these events and festivals are the DJ’s that work the events.
DJ’s play a crucial role into making festivals, concerts, and other various events, special and unique for each and every attendee. DJ’s have the ability to take an average set of songs and create an entirely new sound that people will enjoy. With the combination of mixing different sound bytes and lights, a DJ can create an incredible concert experience that will bring people back to those same festivals year after year.
But let’s get back to the events themselves. These music events are vastly popular around the world. The United States specifically, however, has a handful of festivals that draw in crowds of thousands and sometimes even more.
Lollapalooza, which is a festival and tour that lasts all summer long, draws in insanely large crowds at each location. Whether it is held in a big city or in a smaller suburban town, the crowds that gather are generally of a vast quantity.
Why is this? Lollapalooza offers the chance for people to see thirty plus bands that they love. This is not the only festival to feature a variety of bands and singers/performers. Warped Tour, Coachella, Spring Awakening, Country Thunder, and various other festivals have the same sort of set up.
Each festival has unique set lists and line ups based on what the theme or music genre the festival is centered on. Over the years, Lollapalooza has somewhat transformed from strictly rock music, to now alternative and pop. Various artists from many different genres are now feature at Lollapalooza.
Warped Tour typically features punk pop and punk rock singers while Coachella has a very much “hippie” vibe. Coachella tours with genres like EDM, alternative, folk, and others that can be grouped in one of those categories. Sometimes pop is usually thrown in the mix as well. DJ’s are typically the ones who connect all of the dots and make the transitions between performers on the various stages, smooth.
Country Thunder has the atmosphere of one big tailgate. Beer, country music, and trucks are basically the setting of each part of the tour for this festival. Big country singers such as Luke Bryan and Hunter Hayes have sung at this festival and in some cases on multiple occasions.
There are a variety of events that happen worldwide through the music industry. In the United States, more specifically, festivals feature artists from the states and their talents.
DJ’s often times perform at these festivals and ensure that the transitions between each performer makes for a smooth and fun experience.
Ticket sales for these events vary as well. Lollapalooza, for example, sells out of their wrist band tickets quite fast. Typically, the festival is three days long in wherever it happens to be touring that week or weekend. Wristbands are sold in one day passes, two day passes, and three day passes. These tickets can cost hundreds of dollars however, they typically do not have trouble filling the seats.
This festival in particular, is quite popular in Chicago. It draws huge crowds in Millenium Park where the local businesses certainly reap the benefits.
